Thank You Voters!

Voters in NISD, “thank you!” so much for supporting the district’s $77.9 million bond proposal.

Nacogdoches ISD is extremely grateful for all those that supported, volunteered and voted in favor of the bond.

There’s so many to thank. We have to mention Nacogdoches County Chamber of Commerce and its board of directors that voted unanimously to endorse the bond proposal. The same goes for NEDCO, whose board publicly backed our plan. There are so many others, and in the coming days and weeks we will let you know personally how much we appreciate the support.

Now, we get to work. That means planning several construction projects within the district, including a completely new campus for Emeline Carpenter Elementary School.

Now, we will team up with architects to design these new facilities so the projects can be put out for bidding as soon as possible.

Unquestionably, the upcoming days and weeks will be busy. Later this month, the Board of Trustees will appoint a Citizens Bond Review Committee, a group that will be charged with confirming projects are being planned and constructed as promised.

Once again, thank you voters for supporting a proposal that will markedly change public education for the better in Nacogdoches. In the near future, we will look back and see Tuesday, Nov. 6, as the day NISD began truly building for the future.
