SFA Hosted a Math Career Carnival for BQJ Students
On December 2, Stephen F. Austin State University students visited Brooks-Quinn-Jones Elementary School fourth and fifth grade students to host a Math Career Carnival.

The Math Career Carnival was designed to help students see how math is used in various careers. SFA students from Mark Montgomery and Paula Griffin's classes designed activities that targeted areas of weakness determined by 2016 STAAR scores.

All BQJ fourth and fifth graders participated during different times of the day.

BQJ Curriculum Specialist Jane Chambers said, "We want our students to be excited about math!"
