Valedictorian for the Class of 2018 is Marin Olson Beal. The salutatorian is Miranda LeAnn Allbee. Beal is headed to Rice University, and Allbee will attend Texas A&M.

Nacogdoches High School’s Class of 2018 has received scholarship offers and military contracts totaling $6,156,915.

NHS seniors were honored Friday morning during the annual scholarship assembly in the auditorium. Honor graduates (the top 10 percent of the graduating class) were recognized along with students voted Who’s Who by NHS faculty.

Students filling out the top ten slots in the Class of 2018 were presented medals.

Rory James Malek, the No. 3 graduate, was recognized for Commended Status in the 2018 National Merit Scholarship Program.

Brandon Smith finishes No. 4, Kay Teekell is No. 5, Christian Nicholas is No. 6, Abbey Franke is No. 7, Austin Burton is No. 8, Ashton Westbrook is No. 9 and Jesse Stovall is No. 10.

Seniors who received the honor of Who’s Who at Nacogdoches High School (voted on by faculty) are: Perla Segura, Marin Beal, Kay Teekell, Jesse Stovall, Katelyn Coutee, Miranda Allbee, Harrison Gibbs, Christian Nicholas, Rory Malek, Brennan Heath, Austin Burton and River Delcambre.
