Parenting Classes Planned

Empowering Parents, a program presented by Nacogdoches ISD Student Support Services and Bilingual Department, is a refreshing and relevant look at raising children in today’s busy world.

Teaching children to care for others, healthy discipline strategies, assessing consequences, implementing time-outs, de-escalating an angry child, establishing structure and family rules, teaching respect and building self-esteem are some of the areas explored.

The program will also look at the types of technology and drugs that are luring children into dangerous behavior.

Classes are free and will take place 12 times during the 2018-19 school year at nine locations around Nacogdoches, including two Saturday classes. Each session includes door prizes and a free lunch.
