Students at Brooks-Quinn-Jones Elementary School may be too young to know precisely what they want to do with their lives. But they got a chance Friday to see what’s available during BQJ’s annual Career Day.

Twenty-seven individuals were on hand to talk about their professions, questions from students and participate in some fun activities.

They included: Beekeeper Beth Derr, Dr. Sharma from Deluxe Dental, Ashley Cook with Harold’s House, Stephen F. Austin State University anthropologist Dr. Leslie Cecil, SFASU soccer coach Wally Crittenden and Venetia Lunsford with Venetia’s Studio.

Also, Judy B. McDonald Public Library Director Mercedes Franks, Michael Self with fire prevention, SFASU geologists Dr. Mindy Faulkner and Dr. Llane Stevens, ranch manager Chris Koffskey, sign language interpreter Matthew Cotton and dog trainer Andrea Sparks.

Also, optometrist Dr. Melanie Vardeman, Ray Cole with U.S. Forest Service, Justice of the Peace Leann Goerner, the Nacogdoches Police Department K-9 Unit and game warden Randall Stovall.

Also, State Farm Agent Nikki Wallace, SFASU recruiter Kim Deckard, orthodontist Dr. Derek Powers, KTRE reporter Hunter Sowards and SFASU entomologist Dr. David Kulhavy.

Also, Universal Technical Institute Director Steven Coyle, mechanical engineer Dr. Bernd Ramspeck, Juvenile Service chief Mark Gorman, real estate agent Christy Turner and a herpetology lab presented by SFASU’s Dr. Stephen Mullin.
