Subject: District Email Migration to the Cloud
Over Spring break the Technology department will work to migrate all email to new servers in the cloud. We will start this process just after 2:00PM today and work throughout next week completing the processes. Don’t worry. You will still have full use of your email during this process.
We have taken many steps of preparation to ensure that your mail is safe and that interruptions will be at a minimum. I have prepared some documentation that will walk you through any errors that you may get on your computer and what to do. I have also added the steps for removing and re-adding the email to your phones and other mobile devices.
The link that you will use for Dragon Mail will change and we will work with the PR Department to get that link updated when we return. In the interim I have made the link redirect you automatically to the proper server no matter where your account is.
If you do run into issues with your computers using the outlook program just simply use the link listed at the bottom of this email as it will be the new Dragon Mail link when we return.
This migration has huge benefits to you as an end user.
To name a few:
- Your account will go from the current limit of 2GB to 100GB
- Email will be accessible from anywhere you have internet
- No more maintenance windows where you are without email while the Technology Department is upgrading servers.
- Redundant offsite backups of email
All of the attachments above should help you with any of the issues you might have once the migration has completed. If you encounter an issue that you cannot resolve using the documentation please call or email the Technology Department on Monday 20th when you return from Spring break. If you need email access before we return from Spring Break and you cannot resolve the issue with the documentation, use the link below.
