NISD Directors Dear Seventh and Eighth Grade Band Members, Parents, and Guardians: We will be traveling to Whitehouse High School on Wednesday, April 14thfor our UIL Concert and Sightreading competition. We have been working very hard to get ready and are looking forward to doing our best. Students will be wearing their school-issued uniform for the performance in Whitehouse. As a reminder, students need to bring their black shoes and solid black socks(or panty hose for girls) to school on Wednesday. We will be changing into our full uniforms before we leave, so students must bring shoes and socks with them in the morning. (The rest of the uniform should have already been turned in to McMichael Band.) We will use the following schedule on April 14th for our travels to Whitehouse High School: 11:25 a.m. 7 & 8 Grade Students Released from Class 11:30 a.m..- 12:30 pm 7 & 8 Grade Band Rehearsal in Band Hall 12:30 pm - 1:00 pm .- Eat Sack Lunch Provided by Cafeteria 1:00 p.m - 1:50 p.m. Get Dressed and Load Truck 1:50 p.m. Load Buses 2:00 p.m. Depart for Whitehouse High School 3:15 p.m.- Arrive at Whitehouse High School - Unload/Use restroom 4:00 p.m - Arrive in Warm Up Room 4:30 p.m.- McMichael MS Band UIL Concert Performance 5:00 p.m.- McMichael MS Band UIL Sightreading Performance 6:00 p.m..- Load buses/ check roll/ depart for Tyler Mall for dinner and shopping 8:00 p.m.- Load buses for McMichael MS 9:30 p.m. (approx)- Arrive at McMichael MS Students should either bring a sack dinner or bring money to purchase dinner at the Tyler Mall following the contest. Parents are invited to attend the UIL Concert Performance, but the Sightreading portion of the contest is closed to the public. If you would like to pick up your child from Whitehouse, you may check them out with a director immediately following the Sightreading portion of the contest. A director must see the student with his or her parent and have a written note from a parent before they will be allowed to leave.
