Elementary In-Person to Full Schedule Monday

Nacogdoches ISD’s six elementary schools on Monday, Sept. 21, will move to a full phase-in of students who have been attending face-to-face instruction on alternating days. Now those students will attend classes five days a week, while elementary students that opted for online instruction can continue to receive lessons virtually.

“Our teachers and campuses have done a wonderful job during this time of transition,” said NISD Superintendent Dr. Gabriel Trujillo. “I appreciate the collaboration that has taken place to launch us into the next phase.”

Parents have also filled a vital role in the start of the new school year, said Trujillo.

“Their partnership and support with our safety practices and measures continue to assist in our success,” he said. “Our goal is to continue to celebrate these daily milestones as we move toward providing a safe face-to-face environment for all our teachers and students.”

Other NISD campuses will continue with their phase-in plans. Nacogdoches High School will have an additional week before all students wanting in-person instruction will be on campus. Both middle schools have two weeks remaining in phase-in plans.

District-wide, a little more than half of NISD’s students have been attending in-person classes since the start of school.
