Family Reading Night

Family Reading Nights begin Tuesday, April 17, at Brooks-Quinn-Jones Elementary, 907 N. Sanders St., and will continue on Tuesdays (April 24, May 1, May 22 and May 29). The program will begin at 5:30 p.m. and end at 7:30 p.m.

Family Reading Nights are a product of Nacogdoches ISD’s Latino Family Literacy Project.

The reading program is directed towards parents of elementary students. Parents will:

  • Learn about new books to read with children.
  • Learn to make a family album.
  • Learn reading strategies.

Parents that did not pre-register are welcome to attend the courses. During the classes, children can stay in the multipurpose room until it’s time for the portion of the program that involves the students. Until then, students will be supervised and can work on homework and have a snack.
