Frailey Holds Huddle Time at Carpenter Elementary

Nacogdoches ISD interim Superintendent Alton Frailey held a Huddle Time town hall-style meeting Tuesday at Emeline Carpenter Elementary School.

Frailey’s presentation explained to those in attendance how NISD arrived at the decision to call a bond election that will be on the ballot Nov. 6. Early voting for the election will begin Oct. 22.

A facility steering committee met three times in late July and early August before making a recommendation Aug. 17 to the NISD Board of Trustees to call a $77,995,000 bond election.

The committee, Frailey said, toured several NISD facilities, including Emeline Carpenter Elementary.

The bond, if adopted by voters, would fund construction of a new Emeline Carpenter Elementary campus.

After presenting the projects that make up the bond proposal, Frailey took questions from those in attendance.
