Dragonette shows set for Dec. 18, 19

Nacogdoches High School’s Dragonette Drill Team will present “Christmas with the Classics” in two performances at 6 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 18, and 6 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 19.

The show will feature numerous songs made famous in Christmas movies, both old and new. All dances are choreographed by Dragonette officers and captains. Dragonette boosters will decorate the auditorium foyer and stage to create a Christmas movie atmosphere.

Songs that students will perform to include, “Snow Heat Miser,” “Hot Chocolate,” “Santa Baby,” “White Christmas,” “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch,” “The Christmas Song,” “We Are Santa’s Elves,” “Linus and Lucy,” “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree,” “What Christmas Means,” “Walking on Air,” “We Need a Little Christmas,” “Let It Snow,” “Run, Run, Rudolph,” “All I Want for Christmas,” “Sleigh Ride Mix” and “Rockette Mix.”

NHS cheerleaders and twirlers, Mike Moses and McMichael middle school twirlers, and dancers from Mike Moses will also take the stage. Additionally, NHS junior and senior young men will appear in a performance inspired by the Radio City Rockettes.

Admission for the show is $5, and doors at the NHS auditorium will open both nights at 5:30 p.m.
