It’s Red Ribbon Week in Nacogdoches ISD.

Activities at NISD campuses include dress up days, rallies and decorating contests.

At Brooks-Quinn-Jones Elementary, a rally for pre-K through third-grade students was held Oct. 22 and dress up days are scheduled the week of Oct. 28.

On Oct. 25, a door decoration contest will be held, and Officer Reyna and drug dog Shaka will visit fourth- and fifth-graders on Oct. 29.

At Emeline Carpenter, a Red Ribbon Rally took place Oct. 15, and dress up days are planned.

A Red Ribbon Rally was held Oct. 21 at Fredonia Elementary, and dress up days and a door decoration contest are planned.

Leo the Lion will visit Nettie Marshall Academy of Dual Language on Oct. 25. Dress up days are planned at the campus the week of Oct. 28.

Stephen F. Austin State University athletes will be on hand Oct. 29-30 and Nov. 1 to greet students at Raguet Elementary. Also, the campus will hold dress up days.

At Thomas J. Rusk, students will wear house colors on specific days during the week of Oct. 28.

Dress up days are planned the week of Oct. 28 at McMichael and Mike Moses middle schools.

At Nacogdoches High School, dress up days are planned for the week of Oct. 21.

The Red Ribbon Campaign raises awareness of the destruction caused by drug use in America, and the red ribbons worn by students and school staff are a symbol of the ongoing fight.
