Entrance Exams

Which Entrance Exam is right for me?

To attend a four-year college or university, a student must take the SAT and/or ACT.

To attend a two-year junior/community college, a student must take the TSIA (Texas Success Initiative Assessment).

All colleges require a student to be TSI complete to take college-level courses in math and English. A student may be accepted to a college or university with low SAT/ACT/TSIA scores, however, if these scores do not meet the TSI exemption requirements, then additional TSIA testing via the college's request may be required.

After additional TSIA placement testing, if a student fails to meet the TSI exemption requirement, the college may require the student to take a developmental course in math and/or English.
