Standardized dress comes to an end for early childhood, elementary campuses in NISD

Beginning with the 2025-26 academic year Nacogdoches ISD will no longer require standardized dress in Pre-K through fifth-grade for students attending the following campuses:

Fredonia Early Childhood Center

Brooks-Quinn-Jones Elementary

Emeline Carpenter Elementary

Mike Moses Elementary

Raguet Elementary

Thomas J. Rusk Elementary

Although standardized dress is no longer required, some clothing and apparel will not be allowed:

• Anything with obscene language or symbols, anything promoting alcohol, drug, or tobacco use, clothing with provocative, vulgar, offensive or suggestive language, or hateful messages. 

• Head coverings, including hats, caps, handkerchiefs, bandanas, du-rags, hoods of jackets, etc.

• House shoes, Crocs and flip flops.

Proper shoes that come with closed toes and non-slip soles are strongly recommended.

The first day of school for the new academic year is Wednesday, Aug. 13.
