Students at Emeline Carpenter meet virtually with author Eileen Holland in the school library

World Read Aloud Day is Feb. 1, and students at Emeline Carpenter and Brooks-Quinn-Jones connected virtually with children’s authors. 

Fifth-graders from Abolanle Odunuga’s class will meet virtually with author Sara Hunter at 9:45 a.m., author Tim Young at 11:10 a.m. and author Kathryn Holmes at 2:20 p.m. Ashley Curl’s second-grade class meets with author Eileen Holland at 8:45 a.m.; Sharon Howard’s first-graders meet with author Sheri Dillard at 10:30 a.m.; and Dominique Williams' class meets with author Annelouise Mahoney at 12:30 p.m.

At BQJ, fifth-graders will visit with Jacqueline West at 8:25 a.m. West is author of “Long Lost,” one of the Bluebonnet books NISD fifth-graders are reading this year.

Emeline Carpenter librarian Linsey Taylor hosted the Zoom meetings in the school library. Librarian JoAnn Fuller organized the Zoom at BQJ.
