Nacogdoches High School’s Golden Dragon Marching Band received a First Division rating at the Region 21 contest Saturday at Lobo Stadium in Longview, receiving 1s from all three judges. This is the band’s 41st top rating since 1980.
The Golden Dragons were one of seven Class 5A bands marching that took part in the regional contest.
“Once more, our band students performed at a top level at the contest and I couldn’t be prouder of them,” said NHS Band Director Jacob Weems. “The last two years have been difficult for everyone, and our students and directors have answered the call every time.”
