Mr. Fogarty and his students decorated cookies today!


5th grade artists worked on their autumn leaf pattern drawings in art.




A few gentlemen enjoyed a new book from the Book Fair with Mr. Fogarty.

It's not a sugar rush that's motivating these trick or treaters. It's simply excitement to play Halloween themed math games. Ms. Brittany's math groups were busy working on fluency skills during this lesson.

Mrs. Rachel's class had a tea party. The students learned about the short vowel sound /u/. Mrs. Rachel forgot the sugar! Everyone said, "Ugh!".




4th grade Mathematicians took their problem solving skills to the operating room today! Students performed surgery on 8 different patients using long division strategies. They refreshed themselves with Hawaiian Punch-filled blood bags at the end of their shift. They had a blast!!










Yesterday, Tuesday, October 24, 2023 Carpenter Elementary students trunk or treated out of the trunks of teachers' cars. Everyone dressed up and had fun!





This group of early readers were busy polishing phonics skills during their WIN time last week with a spooky sound matching game.



No potions, just some fun pointers to bring a little magic to this letter tracing practice.



These first grade students are working to build fluency through numeracy skills. It got a little batty!





Mrs. Rachel's class read the Texas 2x2 book Bathe the Cat by Alice B. McGinty. After reading the book they painted a cat and made their own to do list.

It's Red Ribbon Week! We will be dressing up to fight against drugs this week, October 23-27, 2023. Today was Sports Day. Tomorrow, Tuesday, October 24th we are dressing up as twins.

Ms. McClendon lead a lesson on bullying in art class. Students' made a pledge to be bully free and put their hand print on the banner.




Ms. Kennedy's 2nd grade scientist did a magnetic experiment in the science lab. Students discovered which items were magnetic and which were not magnetic.






Carpenter 4th and 5th grade artists have been working on their recycled monster head projects. Turning trash into art. The finished products will be on display in the library at the book fair next week!





The Book Fair is Monday, October 23- Friday, October 27. It will also be open on Tuesday, October 24 during Trunk or Treat. A newsletter and flyer will be going home later this week.
After reading and discussing the wordless book Float by Daniel Miyares, Mrs. Ashley’s class made paper boats like the boy in the story. This is a fun activity that helps students follow directions and develop fine motor skills.
