
Last Friday, September 29, 2023 book clubs started in the library. The first day students decorated their book trackers and chose a book to read and discussed next week.


Students ended the week in art class painting beautiful rainbows.






Library Clubs started this week. Select students in 1st through 5th came to the library Tuesday during their lunch to eat and participate in LEGO club. Mrs. Taylor saves their creations each week for students to be able to continuing to work on their creations.




Ms. Herron's 3rd grade scientists enjoyed learning about Matter and Energy in the science lab today through hands-on experiments! Students successfully rotated through 6 stations to study measuring mass, texture, temperature, magnetism, density and the states of matter. Parents! Don't forget to ask your scholar what they learned about these concepts when they come home today.







Mrs. Mosby's kindergarten class dressed up as community workers. Students picked what they want to be when they grow up and dressed the part.







The Carpenter artists have been busy building colorful sculptures. We learned how to fold arches and zig zags. Their
sculptures were built on the bases we painted last week. They had a blast!







Mrs. Rachel caught her student reading a book as she walked into class.


Students have been enjoying library time. They have been checking out books since the 1st week of school. After they check out books they go to educational stations until it's time to go back to class.



Ms. Arvello spoke with 3-5th grade students about r
espect. They read a book and had a discussion about how to show respect.



We are starting up Box Tops for Education again. It's been a few years and we are excited to be participating in this fundraiser again. Faculty and staff at Carpenter Elementary want to give a big thank you to Insomnia Cookies for the assortment of cookies. They were a much appreciated pick me up this Friday afternoon!



4th and 5th grade students in Mr. Fogarty's class read the Nacogdoches Daily Sentinel. As they read they highlighted unfamiliar and difficult words in each article to work on vocabulary. The Sports page was their favorite section by far!



3rd and 4th grade artists began work on their bases for sculptures. Sculptures to follow next week, stay tuned!




Kindergarten used their five senses today during a lesson on observing physical properties of matter.

In art class kindergarten and 1st grade did a find and seek with colors and shapes.









Last week 4th grade students worked in partners to complete a Venn diagram in Mrs Meredith’s ELA class. They compared and contrasted themselves to each other. This will help students see their similarities and differences and help them celebrate both, creating a safe environment for all to learn.






We are getting ready for the first day of school!
