Nacogdoches High School senior Veronika Willardson has accepted an appointment to the U.S. Naval Academy. Veronika is a member of the Class of 2023 at NHS.
On Monday, U.S. Rep. Pete Sessions was on hand at NHS to publicly announce the appointment. Sessions represents the Texas 17th Congressional District, which includes Nacogdoches. Afterwards, a reception was held in the NHS library.
During the ceremony in the school’s auditorium, speakers included Veronika, Sessions, NISD Superintendent Dr. Gabriel Trujillo, NHS Principal Stephen Autrey, NHS swim coach Carrie Scroggins, NHS girls track coach Christopher Moody and Dr. Spencer Willardson, Veronika’s father.
