Ten Nacogdoches High School students have completed the AP Capstone program this year.
Students who earn scores of 3 or higher in AP Seminar and AP Research and on four additional AP Exams of their choosing receive the AP Capstone Diploma. Students who earn scores of 3 or higher in AP Seminar and AP Research but not on four additional AP Exams receive the AP Seminar and Research Certificate.
This is the third year for NHS to graduate students from the AP Capstone program.
David Taravella will graduate as an AP Capstone Diploma Candidate. Seniors Parker Bobo and Murphy Jacobie will graduate as Capstone Certificate candidates.
Other students participating in the program include senior Yaromyr Miller, and juniors Audrey Bray, Viviana Chavarria, Gianna Rubio, Grace Hao, Sterling Smith, Emma Welsh and Joe Still.
Since the first group of students completed the program in 2021, NHS has had four students earn the Capstone Diploma and six students earn the Capstone Certificate. In 2022, only approximately 14,100 students around the world earned the AP Capstone Diploma, and only approximately 9,200 students earned the AP Seminar and Research Certificate.
