Compensation plan approved

Nacogdoches ISD’s Board of Trustees approved the 2025-26 compensation plan during Thursday’s regular board meeting. Here are some highlights:

  • As part of House Bill 2, $2,500 increase for teachers with three and four years of experience and $5,000 for teachers with five or more years of experience. Teacher scale includes classroom teachers and interventionists.

  • New teacher starting pay is now $50,500. Teachers moving up from their first year of teaching and second year of teaching will receive a 2 percent increase in compensation.

  • The payscale for classroom teachers and interventionists will now range from $50,500 for new teachers up to $68,138 for teachers with at least 25 years of experience.

  • All district employees receive at least a 2 percent increase in compensation. Market-based adjustments for select pay grades will result in significant increases for, including a 2 percent of the salary midpoint and a $1.30 per hour adjustment for targeted positions in student nutrition, plant services and paraprofessionals.

  • Classroom aides will also receive a minimum increase of $1,500 annually.

The increases in compensation are part of a $64 million operating budget adopted Thursday by trustees.

The full compensation plan will be available on the district website after the Fourth of July break.
