Teachers celebrate at convocation

Summer’s almost over, and excitement is building about the first day of school on Aug. 12.

But before Nacogdoches ISD welcomes back students, all teachers and staff return Aug. 3 and will celebrate the start of a new year with Convocation at 9:30 a.m., Friday Aug. 7, in the competition gym at Nacogdoches High School.

That’s not all. There will also be a vendor fair from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 7 at the Malcolm Rector Center for Advanced Careers and Innovation, also located at Nacogdoches High School.

On that day, a grab-and-go breakfast will be available in the commons area at NHS beginning at 8 a.m. During the vendor fair following Convocation, food trucks will be on hand outside the CTE center.

NISD couldn’t hold convocation and all the goodies that come with it – swag bag, door prizes, etc. – without its Presenting Sponsors: Perdue, Brandon, Fielder, Collins & Mott LLP; East Texas Professional Credit Union; A&P Inflatables; NIBCO; Nikki Evans-Wallace State Farm Insurance; and Spirit Outfitters.

Vendors who will be set up at the Fair: Chick-fil-A, Bri’s Brew, Monkey Loko, Swirl & Swig, DJ Rule, Pineywoods Catering, Stone House Kitchen, KO Designs Permanent Jewelry, Forever J Collective Custom Boutique Gifts and Unlimited Designs.

Also, Spirit Outfitters, Excel ER, The Frosty Panda Co., Family Crisis Center of East Texas, Century 21, NacSpace, Dillas Quesadillas, Fitness 360, Boys & Girls Club of Deep East Texas, East Texas Stitches, ServPro, Ary’s Cookie Palace, ATPE, Macias Remodeling, Nac Historic Sites, Ryssa’s T-shirts & More and WTI Boyd.
