Nacogdoches ISD will celebrate the start of a new school year at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 16, when teachers and all district staff gather in the competition gym at Nacogdoches High School for Convocation. Presenting sponsors are ServePro of Lufkin/S. Nacogdoches County, Spirit Outfitters and the law firm of Perdue Brandon Fielder Collins & Mott LLP.
It's the first time since 2019 NISD will hold an in-person convocation.
Superintendent Dr. Gabriel Trujillo will provide the program on Tuesday, and there will be a number of door prizes to be given away. Staff attending convocation will also receive a goody bag, and T-shirts for the new year will be delivered to campuses and district facilities next week.
Golden Dragon sponsors for Convocation are PBK Architects, BancorpSouth and BXS Insurance. Bronze Dragon sponsors are Brendyn’s Barbecue, Commercial Bank of Texas and WRL General Contractors.
Campuses and facilities will be able to sit together in the NHS gym; signs will designate where each group will be located. Drawings for door prizes will take place throughout the morning, including three special Dragon items that will be awarded at the end of the service.
